You can use either application method for this product, but the best way for a smooth, bubble free application, is to spray the glass and the graphic surface, using a wet edged squeege to easily apply the graphic.

Only measure the glass!  Unless you have a seamless enclosure, most tanks and habitats have edging.  Only measure the height and width of the glass that will display the custom background.
